Senators Vow to Work Together to Repeal Railroad Antitrust Exemptions

On June 1, Senators Kohl and Rockefeller announced that they will ask the Senate Majority Leader to postpone the vote on S. 146, the Railroad Antitrust Enforcement Act, in order to provide time for them to work together on comprehensive rail reform legislation that will also repeal the railroads' antitrust exemptions. This development brings captive shippers one step closer to freight rail competition and demonstrates the commitment of our congressional leaders to end the abuse of monopoly pricing power.
