Manufacture Alabama is a trade association representing manufacturers in a wide range of industries including pulp & paper, steel, chemical, textile and shipbuilding. All of these industries share common interests and goals and face common competitive challenges in today’s tough global marketplace. A major concern for Alabama’s manufacturers is freight rail service. Throughout the state our plants are dealing with increasing rail rates that change day to day and unreliable rail service. This hampers Alabama manufacturers’ ability to compete globally and the effect is felt throughout our state and nation.
Manufacture Alabama is committed to voicing the problems our rail shippers are having. We will continue to stay in close touch with our Congressional Delegation about the ongoing rail issues our members are facing.
